Help with Ding Dong Messenger
If somebody is in danger right now, call 911. If you or a friend are thinking about hurting yourself, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. It's free, it's open all day and night, and you don't have to give your name.
Reach a person
Email support@dingdongusa.com. A real person reads every email. Tell us what happened and, if you can, what you were doing when it happened.
If something in the app isn't working, you can also send us the app's diagnostic log from Settings → About → Diagnostics. It helps us find the problem and never contains your messages.
Reporting someone
- A message: press and hold it, then tap Report.
- A person: open your chat with them, tap ⋯ at the top right, then Report.
- A group: open the group, tap ⋯ at the top right, then Report group.
A real person reads every report. Nobody you report is told who reported them. You can also block anyone: they are never told, and to them your account looks like it doesn't exist.
Signing in
- Forgot your password? After typing your email on the log-in screen, tap Forgot password? and we'll email you a code.
- Not getting the email? Check your spam folder. Codes come from no-reply@dingdongusa.com.
- Told about a sign-in you didn’t make? In Settings, tap Change password, then Sign out other devices.
Deleting an account
Open Settings → Last seen & presence and tap Delete my account at the bottom. You don't have to email anybody or explain why. Our privacy policy explains exactly what is removed.
If you're a parent and believe your child under 13 has an account, email support@dingdongusa.com and we will remove it.
Safe mode
Safe mode keeps everything in the app out of screenshots and screen recordings. It's on for every new account. Turning it off asks for Face ID and then your Ding Dong password. It's in Settings → Safe mode, and turning it back on takes one tap.
